Magherafelt Nursery School, Magherafelt

About Us

Magherafelt Nursery School is a well-established school having first opened in 1975, on its original site on the Fairhill Road with an enrolment of seventy-five children. The impetus and sustainability of the school is reflected in its current enrolment figure of 130 children and in the state-of-art building which the school now occupies.

The children are taught by fully trained teachers and highly qualified nursery assistants. A school Principal and a Board of Governors oversee the operational and strategic running of the school.

The children are divided into five classes of 26 children; one full time class and 4 part time classes.

The times of the sessions are as follows;
Full Time class – 9am - 1.30pm each day
Part Time (Morning) class – 9am - 11.30am each day
Part Time (Afternoon) class - 12.30pm  - 3pm each day

The indoor learning environment encompasses three purpose-built classrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a large social and dining space, cosy nooks and quieter spaces and a sizeable multi-purpose room to the rear of the building.  In addition, the enclosed and secure outdoor learning space is interesting and expansive with a willow wood, wildlife conservation area, messy kitchen, pirate ship, sand-house, tunnel and physical challenge area adding to the learning experience.
