The admissions process for pre-school places in all settings in Northern Ireland is managed by the Education Authority.  On Tuesday 12th December, the EA publishes information about the pre-school admissions procedure and admissions criteria for all providers on its website. The online applications portal for admissions to pre-school in September 2024 will be open midday on 9th January to midday on 26th January 2024.

Please note these key dates:

12th December 2023: Admissions Criteria for all preschool providers has now been published and can be searched by CLICKING HERE.

6th January 2024: Magherafelt Nursery School Open Day, please book an appointment by calling 79632981 between 9am-1pm or by clicking here, thanks.   

9th-26th January 2024: The Portal for online preschool applications will be open at the EA website.  

Target Age for entry in September 2024: Born 2 July 2020 - 1 July 2021

Underage for entry in September 2024: Born 2 July 2021 - 1 July 2022

Please note:

Punctual applications will be given preference over late applications i.e. make sure to apply on the Portal between 9th-26th January!
